While a Michigander as heart, I am currently looking for full-time or freelance work in the Indianapolis area.
Most recently I was a Content Writer for GVC Mortgage, Inc. in Pendleton, IN. In this role I composed and managed their corporate, and a few of their branch's, social media sites, wrote blogs for both corporate and branch locations, marketing copy, wrote and designed ebooks, and edited and wrote policies and procedures. I was also able to train staff members on Bambu, GVC's social media employee advocacy program sponsored through Sprout Social.
Before moving to Indiana to fill the Content Writer role, I was a writer and researcher intern for Quicken Loans' Legal Lifeline Team. While there I researched relevant statutes and then re-wrote them in a way for other legal team members to understand. On top of this responsibility, I was also in charge of designing a variety of the materials the team used to communicate internally and externally with other legal teams including the website where the statutes will eventually be stored, and the intern training book.
Before graduating from Grand Valley State University in the Winter of 2013, I worked as a communications writer and project manager for Grand Valley's University Development department. In this position I worked as a communicator who took a client's needs and effectively translated them into the right content in the correct mediums to achieve their goals. In addition, I created a manual system for managing projects that kept the 13-20 projects I managed at a time on schedule.
Throughout my experiences I have learned two main things about myself: First, I thrive in positions where I am working on projects which challenge me. Second, I love, more than anything, to write and develop content.
With these two facts in mind, I am always open to opportunities within the Indianapolis area that will keep me challenged, and allow me to write. It would be an added bonus, and my dream position to work in the non-profit sector, but until I'm there, I'm happy learning and experiencing all I can about the writing and marketing field.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and get to know me a little better. Please feel free to contact me with questions.
